2025 has been monumental for Allnic, with the release of a new Headphone Amplifier product line.   Foremost, in collaboration with Danny McKinney, the North American RAAL distributor, Allnic released the HPA-15,000 OTL/OCL Headphone Amplifier and Line-stage Preamplifier featuring an optional RAAL "Direct Drive" connection for ribbon headphones to replace one of the balanced outputs at no additional cost.

Please note that the optional 0.2 Ohm "Direct Drive" output is implemented using Allnic's custom, made-in-house, hand-wound silver winding nickel permalloy core balanced transformer.

The HPA-15,000 OTL/OCL is a far more powerful amplifier than the HPA-10,000 OTL/OCL and features "Harmonic Balance Mode" using a proprietary approach to providing a flat frequency response for ribbon (and planar) type headphones.  This feature is controlled by a switch located on the chassis's top-right corner and is selectable without pausing the music.  HBM, when enabled, allows you to perceive the differences in sound more objectively, clearly, and emotionally resonant.  In the case of the RAAL Ribbon series, you can even hear bass that was previously inaudible.

Why OTL/OCL?

In common circuits, output capacitors or output transformers are required to separate the AC music signal from the DC operating potential. If this is not done, the latter will destroy the power amplifier, the loudspeakers, or both. However, these two coupling devices also introduce their own influences on the transmission of the musical signal, adding their own character (colouration), increasing distortion, and consuming small signals, all as predicted by physical efficiency theory. In addition, they also limit signal dynamics. For these reasons, the elimination of output transformers and capacitors has been considered the best solution for the design of the most accurate amplifiers. Removal of these two coupling devices from the signal path achieves the best results possible:

⦁    No colouration of the musical signal
⦁    Extremely detailed expression, natural harmonics, and subtle musical decay
⦁    The lowest possible distortion
⦁    The widest musical dynamics

Taking these factors into consideration, KS Park, Allnic’s founder and chief designer's very first OTL/OCL commerically produced unit was the now discontinued HPA-5000, and revolutionized the now highly acclaimed Allnic's linestage preamplifier product line.  Please read all the positive reviews and awards here.  The OTL/OCL approach has also been applied to their new flagship H-10,000 OTL/OCL "Signature" phonostage amplifer.

October 2025 production features an engraved aluminum attenuator cover.

All current HPAs feature Allnic’s unique 61 step constant impedance bridged type attenuator - allowing for preservation of soundstage and dynamics over the complete volume range and eliminating that often too loud "sweetspot" needed to achieve a truly immersive experience.

AudioKey Reviews Diamond Award

"The ALLNIC AUDIO OTL/OCL HPA 10000 compels one to listen and to be rewarded by one of the most transparent, beautifully resolved, natural, and musically engaging headphone amplifiers that this reviewer has listened to, owned, or reviewed to date. And the surprising thing is that this also takes into account electrostatic HPAs, which had served as a revered “third rail” untouchable given their rather potent bona fides. The ALLNIC HPA 10000 has de-electrified that third rail. That it plays nice with a great many headphones and headphone types—dynamic, planar, IEMs, AMTs, etc.—than do electrostatics, in truth, seals the deal."

The HPA-10,000 OTL/OCL remains a strong consideration for those who have a quiver of high-efficiency dynamic headphones.  MRSP: $13,200 USD

HPA-300B tube rectified, transformer-coupled output Headphone Amplifier/Integrated Amplifier

HPA-300B Product Page    HPA-300B Manual

To me, the Allnic HPA-300B represents the pinnacle of one's personal preferences and remains my personal favorite headphone amplifier of all time - for its versatility in both tube rolling and voicing the circuit to each of our own personal resonance.  My personal journey has led me to the realm of high-efficiency loudspeakers and single-ended, direct-heated triodes. The HPA-300B excels in all aspects, striking a balance that drives the most challenging planar or ribbon-type headphones without strain and, without being overdriven, the most efficient dynamic designs.  The fact that the HPA-300B is also an integrated amp for efficient, SET-loving speakers is a huge bonus.

"Context here, as with so much in audio, is everything.  There's a reason why almost all manufacturers - Allnic included -produce dedicated headphone and speaker headphone amplifiers.  However, Kang Su Park clearly spies a certain cohort of buyers who demand excellent performance from headphones and loudspeakers... and compactness and affordability.  Allnic HPA-300B is for them."

- Kevin Fiske, HiFi+, 2025

Context is everything, and the HPA-300B provides the freedom to voice your system.  The HPA-300B's MRSP is $13,200 USD and can be factory optioned with the RAAL "Direct Drive" described above for an additional fee.
